Installing the LaunchPad drivers for MSPEXP > CC3200 /430FR5739 / MSPEXP430G2
Note: Some LaunchPad uses different method of building sketches. because of limitation on this method you need to install ENERGIA without spaces.
If you have used the MSPEXP4321R LauchPad using Texas Instruments CCS(Code Composer Studio) probably you have already the driver. If didn’t install the CCS then just follow the instructions below.
Note: Do not connect your LaunchPad to your Computer, if you have already plugged it into your computer then unplug the board before continuing.
Download the LauchPad driver for windows here then unzip and open the DPinst.exe for Win32 Bit or DPinst64.exe for Win64 Bit, next just follow the installer instructions, then connect your MSPEXP432P40R LP to the computer, then the computer will be automatically recognized your board.
For installing on windows 8 and 10 you need to disable the computer signed driver.
GoTo > Change PC Settings > General > Restart Now > then It will ask you choose an option select > Troubleshoot > Advance > Startup Settings > Then press the number 7 which is Disable driver signature enforemenent then you pc will show “windows can’t verify the publisher of this driver software” select > Install this driver software anyway | START YOUR COMPUTER
Error while installing Energia,
Not Seeing your serial port in Energia or Driver is not correctly installed.
Make sure jumpers are connected in the LaunchPad and you will get a green LED light on the board when the USB is connected, Restart your computer or Re install the Dpinst.exe with a administrator privileges.
Important Notice for MSP-EXP430FR5969 LaunchPad
Note: If you board appears “eZ FET Rev 1.2 w/d Energy Trace” it means the board that your using is currently not supported by the Energia IDE. most likely your board version is 2.0 and above, The reason for not supported is the driver used by the programmer does not supported yet on your operating system. As soon as the driver is available for all operating systems the Energia update will be available. Texas instruments should replaced with new Energy Trace board if have an early version of the MSPEXP430FR5969 Pad without Energy Trace.
If you have already Texas Instruments Code Composer Studio 6.0, 6.X or 5.0 5.X with MSP430 support is already installed on your computer then you have already the drivers required for the LaunchPad. Otherwise see the documentation of MSP430 USB drivers and debug here > MSP EXP430FR5969 USB Driver
Download the LaunchPad drivers for windows: LaunchPad CDC drivers for windows 32 bit and 64 bit. These files are different from the one for the MSP EXP430G2 and MSP EXP 430FR5739 Pad. Just unzip the file and open DPinst.exe for Windows 32Bit and DPinst64.exe for Windows 64Bit. Follow the installation instructions.
